Mama Needs A Tan.

If you've had the 'pleasure' of spending five minutes with me lately, you know that the plight of PCVS and its possible closure has been on my mind, on the daily.

I've had the chance to hang out with so many awesome PCVS students, and I know I'm not alone in thinking that downtown Peterborough would not be the same without them. Through work, I've been able to be a part of a team of students that are competing in Walk The Walk, a huge contest run by Hurley that has just been opened up to Canadian high schools. PCVS is the first and only Canadian team to enter into this event, and if their videos get enough votes these guys (and possibly myself by way of chaperoning) will get to go to California! And by chaperoning, I mean scurrying them across the Mexican border in the back of an El Camino....

Seriously though, if we win the kids will compete in a fashion show for 500,000 people at the U.S. Open! And if we win that, PCVS will get $25,000! Which could be the difference between having an amazing downtown integrated-arts school, or a stank rooming house for your Uncle Ronnie and his 'pet' lice.

Anyways, their first two video challenges are online and voting has commenced! You can vote all week for Challenge 2, and next Monday you will have one more week to vote for Challenge 3 - then the day of reckoning shall be upon us. Help a sista out and go to www.hurley.com/walkthewalk and vote for PCVS, or I'll put YOU in the back of an El Camino...
