Bolly, good golly

Somehow (after working a double shift during a mass power outage) I managed to get home, eat supper (seafood stew with mango salsa over couscous - definitely not homemade), hem a pair of Levi's and steal my "Summer Footwear That Doesn't Suck 2011 Edition" from highsnobette. Eat it, shitty rubber flip-flops.

Return of the Mani

Goodbye, recession nails! No more drab and matte, short and black, utilitarian nails. The mani is back, and you might say shit done changed.
I remember when my nails best friends were a thick coating of White Out and a highlighter jacked from the boy scout in front of me in math class, topped with glittery clear coat. Same goes for my Converse sneakers.

T.C.B.

It's come to my attention that Mikey and I need business cards. But not your typical business cards, no sir. No raised lettering on eggshell white with a watermark for me.
I thought I had my concept all figured out, but here comes Robbie Augspurger with his awkward 70's throwback glamour shots. This is creating way too many options, and my Russian-Bond-Girl-with-fur-pillbox-and-an-Uzi just ain't cuttin it.
So help a sister out - shoot me an idea (the crappier the better), and I'll make it happen... with a little help from PhotoShop.

Drop Dead, Fred.

Nothing says Easter like a good ol' fashioned butt bongo fiesta!

I'll be glazing a ham this weekend in this classic assless apron, compliments of Fredericks Of Hollywood.

(sorry, facebook followers for the repeat post. for obvious reason, I can't get enough of this shit)

"felt so free, the F.B.I is lookin for me, baby"

I've always been inspired by Patti Smith - her brave music, seminal punk style, roiling relationship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, the era that shaped her art and the struggle she experienced creating it.

My favorite photo

Rarely smiles for the camera, but so beautiful when she does.

Mama Needs A Tan.

If you've had the 'pleasure' of spending five minutes with me lately, you know that the plight of PCVS and its possible closure has been on my mind, on the daily.

I've had the chance to hang out with so many awesome PCVS students, and I know I'm not alone in thinking that downtown Peterborough would not be the same without them. Through work, I've been able to be a part of a team of students that are competing in Walk The Walk, a huge contest run by Hurley that has just been opened up to Canadian high schools. PCVS is the first and only Canadian team to enter into this event, and if their videos get enough votes these guys (and possibly myself by way of chaperoning) will get to go to California! And by chaperoning, I mean scurrying them across the Mexican border in the back of an El Camino....

Seriously though, if we win the kids will compete in a fashion show for 500,000 people at the U.S. Open! And if we win that, PCVS will get $25,000! Which could be the difference between having an amazing downtown integrated-arts school, or a stank rooming house for your Uncle Ronnie and his 'pet' lice.

Anyways, their first two video challenges are online and voting has commenced! You can vote all week for Challenge 2, and next Monday you will have one more week to vote for Challenge 3 - then the day of reckoning shall be upon us. Help a sista out and go to www.hurley.com/walkthewalk and vote for PCVS, or I'll put YOU in the back of an El Camino...

Bea Day

'Bonjurrrrr, mon belles dames'...(insert sophisticated tongue-rolls as I languish on a chaise lounge, welcoming you with a glass of grigio glistening with condensation).

Today is a wonderful day, because today is Beatrice Dalle Day. My best pal and mentor in movie-related matters, Elliot, sat me down to watch "Inside" a week or so ago, and this fiery French bitch hasn't left my mind since. Not only does she play the wickedest villain since door-opening velociraptors, but she has a criminal record and is apparently an absolute nightmare to work with (to which i say: rock n' roll).

Remember how everyone freaked when J-Lo wore the green jungle dress to the Grammys? Bitch, you ain't got shit on B. Word.
Am I right?

...A bad moon on the rise.

Dear imaginary followers:

Please excuse the stark rookie feel to my first blog post! B.R. was cool enough to drink beers and create this lil fella with me all Sunday afternoon, and eventually it dawned on me that he may have better things to do than work from home (for free). Promise, I'll soon have a banner and gadgets and enough paisley to drive you mad.

I think I'd like to inaugurate my blog with my most current obsessions/inspirations/aspirations.
